70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE D-DAY LANDING
Concept
& context
On 6 June 2014, at Sword beach in Ouistreham, we designed and produced the International Ceremony for the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy.
So that this commemoration may be an act of remembrance, the historical events have retraced in chronological order. We chose to share the real-life stories of those experienced the day to spectators on site, TV and web audiences by sharing the real-life stories of those experienced the day.
The ceremony was broadcast live worldwide to nearly one billion viewers.
The largest French international event of the year, it attracted more than 8,000 spectators, 25 Heads of State and Government, including the Elizabeth II Queen of England, Barack Obama, François Hollande, Angela Merkel, David Cameron and Vladimir Putin.
A 5,000m2 International Media Centre welcomed more than 1,500 journalists.
